MCP server

Connect QR Dynamic to Claude, or any other AI tool that speaks MCP, so it can create, edit, and manage your QR codes directly from a conversation. Source is open on GitHub.

What it can do

  • create_qr — make a static or dynamic QR code (url/wifi/vcard), with optional custom colors and a logo.
  • list_qr / get_qr — see your existing codes.
  • edit_qr — change a dynamic code's destination, label, expiration, or password without reprinting it.
  • delete_qr — remove a code.
  • bulk_create_qr — generate many codes at once from CSV text.

Access follows your real subscription

The MCP server has no logic of its own for what you're allowed to do — every tool call forwards your API key to the same v1 API, which checks your actual plan on every single request:

  • Requires the $30/mo plan or higher for any API/MCP access at all.
  • Custom styling (colors, logo) requires $10/mo or higher.
  • Rate limit: 60 requests/min on $30, 300 requests/min on $50.

A downgrade or a revoked key takes effect on the very next tool call — nothing is cached.

Setup

1. Upgrade to the $30/mo plan or higher, then create an API key at API settings — it's shown once, so copy it immediately.

2. Add this to your MCP client's config (Claude Code's .mcp.json, or Claude Desktop's config file):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "qr-dynamic": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "github:axis730/qr-dynamic-mcp"],
      "env": { "QR_DYNAMIC_API_KEY": "qrd_live_..." }
    }
  }
}

No install step needed — npx pulls the server straight from GitHub. Full setup notes (including running it from a local clone instead) are in the repo README.
